Pixel Survivors! I currently hold 4/5 top spots in Pixel. A few people have asked me how I'm scoring so high, so I thought I'd share. My favorite character to run is the mage, because he deals good damage and can run through packs powered up. Let's start with skills. This is typical the order I max them in. Orb Grenade Fireball (kills bosses fast, this is important) Lightning Ancient clock Magnet (usually 1 by lvl 20 ish) Power stone Aura Armor Magic wand Boots I get to lvl 7 ASAP and sit in the pocket killing minions, not collecting dots or getting to level 8 because that triggers the first boss, which means less minions, which means less dots and slower leveling. Once the countdown turns red, the minion spawn stops and I collect my dots. I then kill the first boss as fast as possible. This is important, the faster you kill the bosses the better. Why? Because there is a timer from when each boss spawns to the next. So the faster you kill the boss, the more time you have to kill minions...

... and get more dots, which means more levels. This becomes exponential because you get stronger, kill bosses and minions faster, get more skills and have more time for the next wave of minions. For example, let's say (not 100%) you get 120s to kill a boss before he enters berserk mode. If you kill that boss in 30 seconds, you'll have 90s to kill minions and collect dots, which means more levels and a stronger character early in the game. However, if you take 90s to kill the boss, you'll only have 30s to kill minions and collect dots, so you'll not be as high as a level for the next round and won't be able to kill as fast. Kill bosses ASAP! The 2nd biggest piece of advice I would give is, you've got to get in the trenches. You're going to take some damage, I like to go in a circle killing minions and cutting the angles smaller and smaller to pick up dots. You will come close to dying a few times and you can start playing a little more passively until you get some life back, but get in there.

The 2nd screen cap is me hitting max power less than 27 minutes into the game. This is necessary because you need to be strong enough to basically run through crowds and collect dots before there gets to be too many to handle. With all skills maxed you can level incredibly fast at this point in the game. If you're not max power before 30 minutes, you're probably not playing risky enough. When I'm not quite strong enough to run through crowds, I use short bursts very often to avoid getting hit by the guys I've dubbed "archers". The short burst method repeated usually keeps me from taking too much damage while still dealing a fair amount. Sometimes you have to wait until the boss comes out to get your dots, but the focus should always be on killing the boss with dots being secondary focus.
