in a coffee shop line watching a grandfather play with his granddaughter and it hit me how incredible it is that, for some of us, life gives us the chance to experience our parents “parenting”, to see their tenderness and inner child at play with our own children why are there tears coming out of my eyes

many grandparents get a second chance at parenting with grand children. especially when they have regrets.

i low key wonder if, biologically/evolutionarily, grand parents are actually supposed to be doing a lot more of the emotional heavy lifting with child rearing
