Noticing that crypto hostile people are thrown off balance when you neither evangelize or defend crypto but simply move on with “fine let’s talk about something else.” I don’t have high hopes that this posture will spread but I think it’s genuinely the best one now. When you make it your whole identity as some seem to, people naturally want to accept or reject you as a whole person based on it.

I don’t bring it up unless I know the other person is in crypto or they bring it up It seems to cause a lot of misunderstanding and assumptions off the bat

It’s a god strategy. I don’t like to get sucked into their game. Usually these people have an axe to grind and I’d rather keep my good mood.

Best way to disarm these people is to agree with them. I have crypto-dubious friends and they were stunned to learn I bought a new computer and upgraded my desk with $DEGEN. Internet money is stupid until it isn't.

I like this as it defuses any potential tension and people are impressed that you don't feel the need to dig your heals in. I think the same approach would be good for other heated and often polarised subjects.

At this point, everyone not in this space is already aware of how corrupt and scammy it all is. Crypto bros are sitting around waiting for mass adoption exit liquidity that is never actually coming. Even institutions got a green light and are still obviously uninterested atm, besides some of the biggest firms,
