Breaking my brain with readings on metaphysical freedom this week. Aka "do we actually have free will?"

Getting deep into the philosophy of free will is an absolute head trip. Because of course, we *want* to believe that we have free will. But... do we? IDK I'm still working that out myself...

mood of the highest order. Iβm exploring whether or not we do on a physical plane with llms and examining their biases (inspired by your explorations π«Άπ») and the consequences of nearly all of our information sharing being distorted. much love in your journeying friend. πβ€οΈβπ₯

My own theology informs my own personal lack of care about whether or not we have free will. It doesn't matter. It's mental masturbation. Which, of course, is lots of fun, but still, it's a very Western philosophical idea - free will has nowhere near the emphasis in Eastern traditions where the focus is more on what we do with the will we so obviously have to create harmony with others who have will, even those not human. Like, our whole idea of free will is all about control. Are we in control is the real question underlying questions of "free will" and ultimately, no, we're not in control until we learn to fully release control and flow with the world as She is.
