oh i think i see. it's rare for something to become widespread. in the 'many timed editions' view, most editions will end up scarce but a few rare things will end up widespread?

scarcity is also a function of price. widespread things are valuable.

when its a function of price it is more often very cheap versus very expensive. e.g. the stainless steel can is one of the most widely spread objects in society. there are very few things replicated at scale. they only cost cents.
