ok important question: if one tells you their dog had 20k steps today would you assume it’s based on having two legs or four legs? no chatgpt no search just tell me off the cuff

i just went on a walk with toby and here are the steps we logged: me: 10,084 toby: 18,259 he was off leash for maybe 30-40% of it so it’s not the most accurate correlation but i think it’s usually about 1:1.5 (or maybe slightly more) ratio for us when he’s on leash and we’re walking the exact steps

here’s another data point for you, this time i had toby on leash the whole time: me: 8,020 toby: 15,539 it was about 1/3 running, 2/3 walking. not sure if run vs walk gait things affect the ratio
