ok listen first of all it was like 8 months ago

second of all I still think it’s a valid question and wanted to open it up to the people

i just went on a walk with toby and here are the steps we logged:

me: 10,084
toby: 18,259

he was off leash for maybe 30-40% of it so it’s not the most accurate correlation but i think it’s usually about 1:1.5 (or maybe slightly more) ratio for us when he’s on leash and we’re walking the exact steps

here’s another data point for you, this time i had toby on leash the whole time:

me: 8,020
toby: 15,539

it was about 1/3 running, 2/3 walking. not sure if run vs walk gait things affect the ratio
