I find myself going out of my way to avoid using the word "strategic". 8 times out of 10 someone says "strategic" to mean "important". Oh, so you're a strategic partner? Tell me about the strategy and how you specifically and uniquely fit into it.

I come across it a lot, yeah. And as you can tell, I’m sensitive to it so I have a strong awareness bias😅 As someone who does strategy, I spend a bit of time understanding what someone else means when they’re talking about strategy— and sometimes setting expectations about differences in what I mean/do.
