One of my toxic traits is downplaying compliments.

But hearing someone compliment my kids is a high that i could ride for a looooooong time. 

Of course I know my kids are great (they really are). And my joy is multiplied when others are blessed by them *and* when the kids are growing into who they're made to be. It all comes together beautifully and we can't take it for granted.

Incidentally, this is in contrast with some friends whose kids aren't making great choices. It's also in contrast with a lot of the decisions I made as a kid. 

Given that and the state of *waves hands* I'm humbled & grateful for these times.
