Important @betrmint Community Update: Over the past 8 months, it’s been truly amazing to work alongside @burr.eth, our beloved CFO (Chief Fun Officer), as she has helped bring so much energy, creativity and fun to the BETR ecosystem. (Maybe one of the best decisions @netnose and I have made throughout the course of building @betrmint.) From poker nights and guessing games to brackets, ClubGG integrations and beyond Burr and @plantsnft have built experiences that have helped make the BETR community feel genuinely alive in a way few projects ever achieve. But if there’s one thing BETR has always been about, it’s helping creators and founders grow bigger than ourselves. And what Burr and Plants have been building deserves the opportunity to expand beyond just our own BETR universe and reach other communities across the space too... That’s why we’re incredibly excited to support them as they take that next step. As part of this evolution, over the next few days Burr will be transitioning into a contractor partner role, with BETR continuing to work alongside her and Plants as partners and collaborators instead of the previous employment arrangement. As part of this next chapter, the BETR With Burr app will soon be evolving into [REDACTED] a standalone platform focused on bringing their vision for social gaming and community experiences to a much broader audience, with BETRMINT as its first and flagship community. To help support that transition, prize pools have already been seeded to ensure that poker nights, games, and community programming continue for BETR holders through at least August. So, TLDR: Some things will be changing structurally behind the scenes in the BETR-verse, but the important part is this: our relationship with Burr and Plants isn’t ending, it’s just evolving, and regular BETR community poker will also resume this week! Saw some folks moving funds out of their warplets in protest so I decided to join in… and do the exact opposite by sending more dry powder IN to mine. Why? - Because I like it here. - Because it’s still the best place to surface interesting apps by based builders, and app coins that let me bet on those builders early - Because I have always felt supported and rewarded for the energy I have brought here, both from the team (@dwr @v @linda @horsefacts.eth) and the communities I’ve curated (/yellow, @betrmint) - Because I know pmf mazes are borderline impossible and I’m here for all the onchain experiments - Because by and large, social networks are what you imagine them to be - Because I think a lot of this negative sentiment is misplaced ire at the past few months of down-only price action when we’re “supposed to be” in a bull market Obviously nobody is perfect and missteps can happen. So can miscommunications and mishandlings. But at the end of the day, Farcaster is still one of the coziest corners on the new internet, with some of the greatest people and most abundant opportunities, and imo it’s important not to miss the forest for a few trees. It’s good to give feedback and constructive criticism, or to contribute to the network in ways you’d like to see it grow, but dunking for the sake of dunking doesn’t really move the needle. I still believe this is one of the best places to hang out in all of crypto, and I’m committed to doing my part to keep making it BETR. 🫡

Exactly one year ago today, @netnose and I kicked off a mini app experiment, to see if a little bit of speculative serendipity could create real distribution and opportunity for builders and creators on Base. That experiment was BETRMINT, and today is our BETR Birthday! It’s been a whirlwind of a year, to say the least. ⚡️ 203,000 spins on the neon flywheel ⚡️ 200+ rounds ⚡️ $300,000+ in total app revenue ⚡️ $80,000 paid to artists ⚡️ $25,000 paid to stakers ⚡️ $50,000 airdropped to loyal users (and more being dropped this week!) Somewhere along the way, this stopped being an experiment and became something of a movement. And in a space where a year is an eternity, where countless projects have come and gone, we’re still here. Still iterating. Still experimenting. Still tinkering with what it means to help creators earn for their creativity onchain. Year one had a lot of triumphs. We were honored to win the $25K top prize for Live Mini Apps during Base Onchain Summer, and to get selected for Base Batches (Startup Track), which took us all the way to Argentina in the fall. We’ve collaborated with just about every Farcaster-native project under the sun. Shout out @darkoh.eth and $RUNNER (perpetual first), @naz1188, @azflin, and many, many more. We are all BETR when we work together. 💪 Somehow through all of it, we’ve built what we genuinely believe is one of the strongest token communities onchain, powered by an army of $BETR believers and a stalwart Chief Fun Officer @burr.eth who always keeps things entertaining, no matter the market. BETRMINT isn’t just about spinning and winning. It’s about giving creators a new way to get discovered. It’s about shared upside. It’s about winning together. To everyone who has supported us since day one… Thank you, sincerely.
