Exactly one year ago today, @netnose and I kicked off a mini app experiment, to see if a little bit of speculative serendipity could create real distribution and opportunity for builders and creators on Base. That experiment was BETRMINT, and today is our BETR Birthday! It’s been a whirlwind of a year, to say the least. ⚡️ 203,000 spins on the neon flywheel ⚡️ 200+ rounds ⚡️ $300,000+ in total app revenue ⚡️ $80,000 paid to artists ⚡️ $25,000 paid to stakers ⚡️ $50,000 airdropped to loyal users (and more being dropped this week!) Somewhere along the way, this stopped being an experiment and became something of a movement. And in a space where a year is an eternity, where countless projects have come and gone, we’re still here. Still iterating. Still experimenting. Still tinkering with what it means to help creators earn for their creativity onchain. Year one had a lot of triumphs. We were honored to win the $25K top prize for Live Mini Apps during Base Onchain Summer, and to get selected for Base Batches (Startup Track), which took us all the way to Argentina in the fall. We’ve collaborated with just about every Farcaster-native project under the sun. Shout out @darkoh.eth and $RUNNER (perpetual first), @naz1188, @azflin, and many, many more. We are all BETR when we work together. 💪 Somehow through all of it, we’ve built what we genuinely believe is one of the strongest token communities onchain, powered by an army of $BETR believers and a stalwart Chief Fun Officer @burr.eth who always keeps things entertaining, no matter the market. BETRMINT isn’t just about spinning and winning. It’s about giving creators a new way to get discovered. It’s about shared upside. It’s about winning together. To everyone who has supported us since day one… Thank you, sincerely. That goes for all the faithful community members who have been spinning and staking daily, as well as our S-tier ecosystem partners at @base.base.eth (s/o @dtso, @zacprater.eth, @carlosjmelgar, @jesse.base.eth) and Farcaster (s/o @linda, @dish, @rish.) We have big plans to make Year Two even bigger and BETR than the last, as we continue to expand our userbase outside of Farcaster and turn @betrmint into the number one onchain platform for dopamine-fueled distribution and discovery.
