makes me laugh when in one breath, people will cite Polymarket & megapot as top candidates for onboarding the next cohort of very onchain people (and I agree), but then in the next breath they’ll say they can’t publicly show support for @betrmint because *checks notes* it has a spinning wheel?… make it make sense

i guess this shows the importance of brand positioning. i like what you’re building but i’ve had the first impression that tied it directly to a casino through the branding it’s also somewhat ironic/funny that crypto serves a “casino” audience that is in denial because the coins are positioned more as “investing in tech projects” than gambling, but ultimately it’s the speculative element and not the tech that draws the bigger crowd (from my own experience with clankfun)

I think using the retro casino aesthetic we did was a calculated risk (gamble? heh) and we did because we thought users would love it and literally nothing is more important than that. By all accounts, they do love it, so I think that has paid off. It’s good feedback to be sure and I appreciate it, but I think it just means we have to keep pushing our messaging, and when people see creators earning $20,000 worth of rewards via our app in 90 days that will be increasingly hard to ignore or dismiss as another mindless casino game. Also that last part— yes! I literally almost said the same thing in my original cast— this space is all a bit of a casino at the end of the day, so let’s just all get off our horses of various heights and work together!
