We need more users more than we need more apps right now Builders need to put themselves in the shoes of a prospective user of their app or product then focus all of their energy on super-serving those users and providing a product that clearly fills a need or desire This is how we will grow as an industry

The cost and speed of eth/base platform are too expensive and slow Users aren't showing up because the alternatives are still *better* for them around how they use social media

I don’t think speed/cost are the big issue It’s more than most people don’t see how crypto clearly solves a need or desire What’s the clear use case for the average person?

The use case for the avg person would be to have more immersive connections with their friends Insta/TikTok/Snapchat linked w Venmo is the competition I see them as faster and cheaper package to navigate for normies than fc

Yes agreed but that use case has only become clearer in the last few days with Warpcast fully embedding a wallet I also think that a new social form factor built on top of the Farcaster social graph is the most likely thing to onboard a bunch of new users

Agreed that's why I'm willing to experiment and spend time on fc due to the growing social graph but normies don't see that as a compelling concept They'll have to see how that social graph adds value to their life before taking the leap I personally haven't seen any app that's solved that problem. App issue imo

You have to onboard users manually (1 by 1) until you get enough believers to help promote your product/app to other potential users Farcade could do this right now imo. So many people play daily mini games like that (NYT Games App) without good incentives or social features

But to your point, they already play similar games on existing app. Why make the shift here? It's friction to move to a new platform. Unless the new app has something truly novel, or value adding (immediately) I don't think we shift existing user behaviors. Side note: Farcade needs Semantle

Semantle is too hard to win to be enjoyable for casual players imo
