Ripple being less trustworthy than CB is your personal bias

coinbase being able to largely determine the winner of an ethereum fork by owning usdc while also having the biggest L2 seems like some form of ethereum sovereignty risk

You frame this here as a capture risk but it could also be framed as an opportunity or incentive for CB to remain being highly aligned to Ethereum.

Anyways, really hard to reason about your personal biases. But I personally only invest in my circle of competence and I know CB magnitudes better than I know Ripple, so that would probably influence my decision a lot
