My experiments have revealed Codex is shit at frontend design work (turns everything into cards), and Claude is pretty good. Even when each is given specific frontend design skills, Claude Opus 4.6 outperforms OpenAI GPT 5.4. I tried multiple frontend design skills, across shadcn, impeccable and web-design-guidelines.
