is there a case for swapping out of USDC due to ripple acquisition risk causing some sort of black swan event? Feels like potentially some unknown unknowns for me here https://x.com/paulbarron/status/1924537163061887483?s=46

coinbase being able to largely determine the winner of an ethereum fork by owning usdc while also having the biggest L2 seems like some form of ethereum sovereignty risk

Clearly an unkown unkown... In my opinion, it would have been better if @circle would not get acquired. Maybe I am exaggerating, but if USDC has any large-scale incident, I don't know if the whole space can recover afterward, so for me, it seems the users of USDC are powerless anyway.

USDC itself is money making business. Ripple has direct business correlation as they can use USDC to settle international payments. So I believe Ripple can pitch in more money to buy USDC. Coinbase can only do it if they believe they want settlement business as part of their arm.

no black swans are black swans cause no one can even fathom rlly unpopular opinion but xrp is one of few US based crypto companies that have been growing the crypto pie with an actual use case since 2017 ppl love to hate on it but the chain works for what they intend it to be

Ug, I hate the idea that USDC could be used to prop up XRP, and the Ripple crew getting their hands on all those tbills. Surely they're just bidding to fuck with Coinbase or something right? How could they possibly manage USDC? I'd bet most people already think Coinbase manages USDC either way.
