A chapter and a half into Mark Carney’s book and he’s already spoken with reverence for Adam Smith, Karl Marx, and Damien Hirst. Not sure where this is going but I’m in.

From what I can tell so far, Carney is an extremely literate, technocratic, social democrat. He could run the central bank in any EU country or play a high ranking role in a center to center-left party in Scandinavia, the Netherlands, or Belgium. He is not a Marxist by any of the standard connotations but he is studied on Marx, his contemporaries, predecessors, and successors. And like every sane person he is aware of the many well considered and intelligent arguments Marx made.
