It is going to cause massive pain to the have-nots in US, fiat USD value to be kicked to the curb, and even more reason for non crypto native to pivot into hard digital assets like BTC /ETH

Definitely a reasonable position to take as hedging against collapsing fiat is already adopted by residents in locations where fiscal discipline of local governments are weak. The momentum  will only get stronger as other sovereign and corporate institutions are gradually coming to the same conclusion.

That’s the only reason I own bitcoin. A hedge against a collapsing dollar /American hegemony. Over the very long term I think ETH’s credible neutrality (hard earned) will overperform. The world needs a new and robustly neutral place to do business.
