With regard to the discussion of the weekend here - if we change ‘airdrop’ in previous conversations to ‘token reward’ (or whatever), I think a lot of peoples’ opinions shift into a much chiller shape. ‘Airdrop’ does not connote ‘user acquisition expensive’ - it colloquially implies ‘community formation event’, which is a very very different thing that user acquisition. Which is why there was much vigor around the topic. Teams/builders and users/traders were saying same word to mean different things

Having never run an airdrop/tge I really wonder if any team does research into their ideal community and user base before deciding the scope and type of distribution they’ll do. Using the wrong data points to build your community makes airdrops expensive and dead on arrival. Doing it right creates 9 figure mcap.
