I spend way too much time thinking about the skin color in the emoji that I use

I understand why they added skin tones but I kinda wish we could’ve just all aligned around the yellow ones and called it a day

i built something at microsoft that used red and green smiley faces. 

it was only an internal tool, but hr told me that it wouldn't be ok to ship because it might be racially insensitive. 

they said, without flinching, that i should go back to the yellow smiley faces.

Green and red people would felt seen imho
