Most, online or offline, show up when there’s something to gain and disappear when there isn’t. It’s not a rule, but it’s a pattern you can count on. Ignoring that is a mistake. This pattern is an evolved feature of human nature. Culture and morality can counterbalance it, but the tendency runs deep. We should strive for better balance because there is no awareness of this world after death
