Perhaps it’s because I’m too much of a purist, but I cannot imagine using a terminal thats VC funded, includes a paid plan, and isn’t even open sourced. By all means use what works best for you, but I gotta draw a line 😅

I used fish for a few years before switching to zsh once it was the macOS default.

I installed fish again a few months ago and it felt like reuniting with an old friend. It just works so well out of the box 😭

oh yeah 100%. I moved from fish to nushell last year and while I love it I would never force someone to use it lol 😂

I teeter this line a lot, as someone who values sharing knowledge for free.

But for tools I use a ton I'll selfishly choose a more obscure option if it means less work for me in the long run. Hence my commitment to ergo split 36 key keyboard on Colemak-dh 🤣

Fish is solid. I’m tempted to make it a default, but I’m also trying to keep the options noob friendly. In this case it’s important to keep it POSIX compliant so people can just copy and paste stuff like they expect to. Also will try to make it flexible so someone with a little more experience can pick what they like or don’t like.
