wasn’t so much so socialites at the core as much as it was what @horsefacts.eth said — a lot giga-nerds enamored with a Grand Unified Theory of the Future of Computing that, even when it was working decently well, did not actually provide a meaningfully differentiated experience for end users because the value proposition is so esoteric
