I want crypto native, decentralized social to succeed and go mainstream. Working my hardest to do my part helping the team and community get there. If you want to see this vision too, would appreciate you posting and inviting others to Farcaster 🙏

It's complicated, and I certainly don't know the right way to structure it, but this, in my opinion, is what a Farcaster token could do. Formally & financially align the network to incentivize everyone within it to help grow it.

Obviously, for me personally, I am *heavily* investing my time & energy in Farcaster without a token, and have been doing so for years. I want to see crypto-native, sufficiently decentralized social succeed as well, and I am incentivized by the fact that I've built a solid reputation here and a few apps which would benefit from it's growth. But aligning masses is one of the greatest potential powers of tokens imo, so I do think it is worth considering this as a reasonable answer to "what would a token do?"

This is a great point. The days of growing other people’s bags are over. Show me the incentives and I will show you the outcome Maybe worth noting that early active users were “airdropped influence” via the auto follow list, which effectively aligned incentives for them to want to grow the platform. But over time the majority of those auto follow users churned, similar to a token going down in value

i am still here but understand why many of the others, most of whom were founders, needed to spend their time elsewhere in order to grow their own businesses
