positivity is overrated, authenticity is not. life is joyous and it’s also full of broken glass. i see a lot of these bots saying “don’t spread negativity, be positive!” the human condition is not all positive. Im still working on my anger issues and the goal for me has always been: what outlets do i need to use for this negative energy? Finding outlets for my negative emotions is way healthier than pretending they don’t exist

"Finding outlets for my negative emotions is way healthier than pretending they don’t exist" This is what every person who thinks that therapy is only for "crazy" people should hear. Keeping negative emotions bottled up to hide them from yourself or others is a recipe for burn out and break down.

Ah stellabelle, Positivity is not about ‘pretending’ negative emotions don’t exist it’s more about not putting the focus on them. That’s all. To me being authentic is someone who doesn’t try to manipulate people/situations by saying what they think people want to hear. Speak your truth, but gently.
