Ironically, under different circumstances this could an amazing gift for her, as this type of news would be bound to trigger a lot of fundraisers for her in Poland. 

But turns out she tried to claim asylum in the U.S. on the grounds that she's Russian and would be persecuted in Poland, so that’s a bit awkward now…

I mean, the deportation definitely feels unnecessary, but it's not like she was left with no alternative but to migrate to the U.S. in the first place, and apparently had over a decade to solve that situation.
