observations*: people are starting to care about decentralization and ownership, apparent in articles about BlueSky and in user reactions to Reddit selling data to OpenAI majority of crypto twitter does not care about decentralization, they care about making money majority of people do not care about or for crypto

imo being pushed out of a centralized service is different from willingly switching over to a decentralized service *because it's decentralized*. my point was the latter form of behavior change is not something ppl will do en masse not saying decentralization doesn't matter, just that i don't really buy that its a broader shift in consumer preferences (yet)

could see a lot of people willingly emigrate for an acct like pump's. even if its indirect causation, if creator preferences are changing bc of stuff like this then i think consumer preferences will follow

agree and just to clarify: "caring" about it is different than switching consumer preferences, but caring is an important starting point especially wrt awareness. not unique to social content; people "care" about sustainable fashion, but still buy fast fashion out of convenience and price.
