- Canada is extremely large! Best first visits are probably either TO/MTL, or to BC or Alberta for nature.
- Vancouver is the most naturally beautiful city in North America (pictured). A city on a peninsula nestled in the mountains, surrounded by rainforest, right on the ocean. If you want to optimize for scenery + nature activities, definitely go to Vancouver!
- Toronto is one of the best food cities in North America, underrated in this respect. I don't think there is any city in NA besides NYC that has comparable quality across so many cuisines. Very high quality chinese (sichuan, cantonese, hakka), japanese, korean, ethiopian, indian, italian, persian, jamaican, french, and lots of great contemporary high end stuff.
- Montreal also a great food + bar city. But much more limited range, more focused on local Quebecois traditions that are distinctive to quebec. Montreal rates higher on "vibes" than Toronto in some ways, full of fun outdoor stuff and street festivals and music in the summer. 1 reply
