live down the block from family but in the suburbs or 40 mins away but closer to where you can see humans and do things within walking distance

idk why i have a deep distaste for the utopian suburbia of the us of a. would love to be convinced to take the plunge

I’ve found Portland to be a middle ground. Many suburb neighborhoods have small shops. You get the benefit of space, but I can still walk out grab coffee, to the river, or to a nice dinner. I’ve really appreciated the balance it provides. Places I lived before Seattle, SF and NY don’t. We chose family
