Being in crypto long enough there's good reason to doubt the idea of casts as Collectibles.

It's been attempted several times but always by third parties, thus no true provenance, thus ripe for cringe moments like the attached image.

Farcaster officially deploying the collectibles makes a big difference.

Is it weird that like ... man, I don't even remember who it was that was making tokens out of tweets before? It all seemed so bogus back then, and I feel like we were vindicated for thinking so?

They are 100% onchain btw and the first wave of minters included all your favorite crypto artists and builders circa 2020 and before

Probably depends how folks view twitter. Personally see it as one of the more influential native digital canvases for a large swathe of early participants especially on the cryptoart end 

But hard collection to deep dive into unless you know what you’re looking for tbh
