I feel like when other people think you’re a scholar because you read a lot of books - if you’re self-aware you begin to realize the actual scholars are more like philology and archaeology specialists that are a whole different kind of thing from you the enthusiast.

This is a good take, I think.
Ultimately, an artist is anyone who engages with the raw material of reality - sound, movement, language, code, or social dynamics - with enough mastery, emotional honesty, and intentionality that the finished work changes how someone else experiences being alive.

My problem is that I find individual deer to be beautiful mysterious gentle spirits of the forest but they also just about killed my young raspberry plants I’m trying to grow so I also hate deer in general deeply on a gut level. 🦌

Interesting and obnoxious thing about Twitter - if you're scrolling your feed it seems like it almost NEVER lets you stop in a place without an animation or video.
