observation: the people i knew who were here back in the heyday earlier this year of degen and frame mania etc etc left the platform NOT because the price of $degen went down (as is the commonly cited narrative nowadays), but, in fact, directly in response to the power badges being implemented. is it possible that the narrative about user decline being bc everyone was just here for the money/chash grab and then dioped out is AT LEAST only a half-truth, and serves to obsure the truth that would point to another culprit that still continues to exist in the form of the dev teams continued preoccupation with “spam filtering” and moderation as the number one priority? thoughts?

focusing on moderation instead of improving features or user experience might indicate preparation for sale or a strategy shift. prioritizing control and filtering makes the app more appealing to buyers by reducing risks associated with unwanted content. introducing "power badges" could also be a way to standardize interactions, simplifying the valuation and transfer of the project. the exit of active users opposed to the new rules decreases conflicts, making the project more stable for potential buyers.

I was just looking for a place to do art and only discovered the web 2 or 3 months ago, and maybe you are right that they left because the badge was removed,The problem is that I followed him and after I checked his following, he had not been active for a month. In my opinion, money will flow by itself if goodness and honesty are carried out, for example, now everyone is chasing moxie, lots of comments are getting lost everywhere.

Power badges are a social status that some ppl put a lot of value into. When they lost it we know it def was a negative and it impacted their engagement enthusiasm here. It def pushed some ppl away!

i think it's all (mostly) about the money. isolate the variable and then decide what would have happened: 1) Degen continued to rocket + every new coin goes up + power badge 2) Everything tanks to zero + no power badge of course, no decision is 100% tied to anyone factor but money first and foremost i also think the overall algorithm for the feed is more damaging then just the Power Badge. PB is like an outcome of the bigger curation issue. Just let me see everyone and determine who i want to see more of or less of. It's so simple it keeps me up at night.

Multiple factor: 1- power badge implementation 2- degen price 3- degen issue with really low allowance couple season ago 4- spam situation and censorship of like and comment amounts
