I'm cooking a curried chickpea root vegetable stew in a crock pot (slow cooker). It's the first time I've cooked with on and so far it seems great. Only a few more hours before it's done. Anyone else have favorite things that they cook in a slow cooker?

Going to use one tonight to make stock from the bones of two roasted chickens. 

I would love to use something larger but don’t want to leave a gas burner going for 8 hours.

Mine is pretty large, much larger than a regular pot I'd put on the stove. I have an induction burner and no stove, but wouldn't want to let the induction burner on for hours either. 

Why not leave induction burner on for a long time?

I want to get induction stove because the starters on the gas range don’t work and you have to light with a match which is too hard for my kid who is learning to cook.

When it's for a while it can start whining. Not sure if that's bad. But I have cooked things for about 45 minutes on it at low with no problem. But the slow cooker is nice and big to make a stew.
