I don’t have problems with other candles etc (I don’t buy candles for myself) To me candles are a gift to someone. A way to make them feel. Making that special requires the gift to be too. Intent + quality makes it really special. Add the story of humankind and you can tell a story along the great gift. The way it makes me feel to gift humankind candles knowing the quality and hearing that appreciating even after gifting when the candles got used is what makes it special. How does that translate into what to focus on? Packaging, messaging, experience. Apple purchase makes you feel a certain way. Rolex too. Porsche … I don’t have to say anything about Porsche 😁 I think that’s the line. At least for me. Quality + Emotion + Story/Message That’s Humankind for me. Which is why I feel it fits among the brands mentioned above. In my eyes telling that story is something to focus on. E.g. the apple 1984 ad, Porsche at the end of topgun 2. the iconic a Porsche gets you laid ads. The humankind version of some message and story / way of communicating that.
