I know a lot of people love using LLMs for everything, but the more and more I used them, the more they remind me of owning a car. You just spend so much time frustrated. Like I sold my car to bike everywhere and only use a car for specific tasks, I think I'm going to find myself doing things slowly and manually by choice, and only picking the LLM when I really need to go a long distance in a short amount of time or carry a LOT of stuff.

Yup exactly I’ve been using it to reduce my cognitive burden but I sense it reducing my capabilities

There's some preliminary studies to suggest that, but don't get me wrong. I love some of what they enable as well. I just think we're overreliant on them. Like—to keep with the car metaphor—if you're just going to the corner store for some milk, it's probably better to just walk.
