Emotional morning. Since the marathon, I really havenât been able to run. I developed some knee strain in the final 10K or so and it hasnât fully subsided. I tried a 5K a couple weeks ago and was on a limp for two days. I went out today with a knee brace and couldnât even get thru a mile. I have every negative thought rushing thru my head rn. Youâre too old. Too heavy for this sport. Everyone tells you youâre built for lifting not running. Running is meditation for me. I just want to get back to it but I know I have to listen to my body. Will be focusing on strength and recovery for a while. I will get back to the road. Eventually.

Keep at it đȘ Treat it like starting from 0 (e.g. even try walking) and your body will catch up in a few weeks. You're not alone - it can take several weeks to get back to the physical (and mental) shape from pre-marathon; especially if it's your first For knee pain, focus on form while running and strength + mobility when not. A little yoga goes a longggg ways
