Coinbase Wallet / TBA no longer works as an alternate wallet on mobile. 

Until recently, you could use Coinbase Wallet or Rainbow to transact on Farcaster using Mobile Wallet Protocol. The latest version of Coinbase Wallet (TBA) does not support this protocol.

We're disabling Coinbase Wallet / TBA as an option for now after discussing with the Base team. They might add support for this in the future, and we'll revisit enabling it. 

Fortunately, this wasn't very widely used and only affects < 2% of transacting users.

Ok but seriously this is such a major change to happen with ZERO warning

Sure I'm in the <2% of users but now I am unable to access ALL of the miniapps that I have been using including all of the coins/eth/NFTs I had in them as they were connected to my CB wallet

Two of your top 3 trending mini apps I am now locked out of because of this decision

This is genuinely fucked up

I think that's very fair and a tough situation you've been put in - and tbh yesterday I wasn't really sure where to direct my frustrations, I was just really worried I was gonna lose access to the miniapps I was connected to (inadvertent positive endorsement of the value of miniapps!) 

I have moved the essentials over the FC wallet now and it's been pretty smooth, so thank you

Was just thrown off guard because there was no warning. Had there been notice I think a lot of problems would have been mitigated

Hey @rundle.eth I'm really sorry to hear this.

We had to make a choice: either keep CBW support and risk a broken experience on the latest TBA (causing major frustration) or act now to avoid that frustration.

We chose predictability, once CBW supports MWP, we can easily re-enable TBA

Just curious, have you tried Farcaster Wallet or Rainbow as alternatives?

Nah smart wallet I don't think was ever an option for me, it was with the old cbw

Was having issues with that anyway as I couldn't use cbw and tba at the same time because it wasn't a smart wallet 🤷

This shit is moving too fast for me hahaha

i couldn't even connect my coinbase smart wallet before TBA happened, did you ever disconnect the coinbase smart wallet?

I don’t think this is likely to happen with Rainbow but @mikedemarais.eth would know better than me 

I think TBA/Coinbase Wallet will eventually come back once Coinbase has time to ensure that TBA is compatible with MWP

It’s the smart wallets that are centralized. I refuse to use one. Any other wallet client would let you copypasta the key into rainbow

So much for sufficiently decentralised I guess 🤷

From my understanding, it’s Coinbase that stopped supporting the protocol. Fc devs just removed the button since it won’t work anymore

Rainbow should work 100% of the times, if it doesn't, it's on us.

Rainbow wallet is also not working. All external wallets disabled 😭
