What’s “spammy” on Farcaster is very subjective and doesn’t fit the traditional definition of “spam”. The nuance is really difficult to understand and I appreciate when the team clarifies their thinking. 

Maybe spamminess is as simple as interrupting other’s experience on the app.

I don’t think either of those are controversial. A reply is a conversation. Topic of conversation is the original post.

Just do a top-level cast and tag the person if you have a different topic.

Thanks to @pichi articles and write ups, I think the simplest way to explain spam is to equate it to an anomaly in a conversation 

Just think of what people do as anomalies in conversations, keep trying to reach out to you when you obviously aren’t answering, deviating from the topic unnecessarily, giving silly answers to genuine conversations, always making statements that they can’t clarify, etc
