call me old fashioned but the ideal amount of physical, um boundary setting, needed to guide young men in the world is non-zero

this physical correction needs to come from a stranger as a consequence rather than a parent as a punishment

the fact this is illegal means soft men who, often rightly, think there are no consequences for their actions

not saying I know how to make this legal in a reasonable way that doesn't have it's own consequences but I imagine this can be done in smaller high trust communities

i think the sliding scale changes based on how much emotional punishment is also involved. you might not have to physically scar them if you manage to traumatize them.

i was never beaten once. but my “consequences” primarily being emotional in nature also helped me develop my EQ big time. i think i’m more or less the right amount of firmness. you did specify “men”, so male mileage may vary
