Pretty cool that you can swap $BTC, $LTC, or several other tokens to Monero right in CakeWallet without having to go through other steps. Still prefer shielded $ZEC to $XMR via WizardSwap or similar sites but it’s easier to get Bitcoin or Litecoin and it’s cheapest to transact with the latter. Just wish one could swap from MWEB coins (I couldn’t figure out how)

Hehehe yeah. I’m only interested in Monero and to a lesser degree ZEC. I have no interest in Bitcoin or Litecoin even with MWEB. As you might notice I don’t really even hold much value on Ethereum. The boomer tokens I mentioned above are just means to an end: setting aside “cash under the mattress” so to speak for in case the world continues to turn into a hellscape. I’d like to maintain some digital cash (fungible private tokens) some fiat cash and maybe even a very small amount of gold. I know it’s a little doomer but with the state of the world, I’d like to have a way to transact in case all of us leftists get debanked. Might even do a mesh radio, offline Wikipedia/WikiHow/LLM, and some iodine pills. Just fill doomer go-bag. But I’m not there currently. My main theory is that in a crisis, even currency will be meaningless. The number one means of transacting will be service. Helping others, cooking, and actionable solidarity without expectation. So I don’t focus too much on the “cash” aspect, believe me. My core focus is on acquiring skills. I speak multiple languages, cook, am learning to program and sysadmin, want to learn to woodwork, and garden, and so on. Maybe in the end, I’m as old as you implied, in more ways than what blockchains I’m using.
