I don’t think the Bloomberg article made that clear. So are you saying everyone on the cap table is getting paid out of that $2B commitment from Google?

Employees (and investors) are being paid out. This structure is being done purely to avoid anti-trust issues, similar to Meta buying ScaleAI by "investing" to own 49% of it.

At the least it devalues LLM powered IDEs [as investment category]... not convinced CLIs are the _only_ future; IDEs will be used and useful for a while... expect employee agreements to go through a transition [founding engineer - ha, ha]
