Employees (and investors) are being paid out. This structure is being done purely to avoid anti-trust issues, similar to Meta buying ScaleAI by "investing" to own 49% of it.

Yes, that's my understanding from insiders. Google is paying Windsurf for a "technology license" which will be used to pay out investors and employees.

I don’t think the Bloomberg article made that clear. So are you saying everyone on the cap table is getting paid out of that $2B commitment from Google?
