This lil one is coming a like three weeks. What’s some non generic advice about raising bilingual children in Japan?

Also a lot of folks give up because bilingual kids mix languages and develop vocabulary at a different speed so parents assume the child is confused and behind their peers and stop speaking both languages. This is wrong! Keep it up and don’t benchmark your child against monolingual speakers! Language development is super complicated but young children are amazing at it! The more languages they hear as their brains are developing, the better they will be at learning them in the future. You are giving your kid an amazing advantage! They will thank you when they grow up!

Totally get what you mean. My best friend was out in “special ed” because he was bilingual and couldn’t keep up. Japanese parents raising him in SF.
