This is important and worth reading. You need a verification and a good spam label to be seen. Pro subscriptions should have no effect on either of these things right now.

Just curious how they are going to onboard non-crypto people when they are invisible to begin with... - Other SM keep it with phone number and or email verification for a reason (the higher the boundary the less people will onboard) - Many people are living under a rock. If someone doesn't know anything about crypto, you have a very high boundary. Good luck explaining why there should be an amount of money deposit somewhere, where is that somewhere, etc. I know there's a huge tension between limiting spam and onboarding, but I don't think you can make onboarding more difficult than other SM without sacrificing user growth.

I was reading some early Farcaster Lore and they wanted to be an alternative to Twitter. They’ve been constantly leaning into Twitter. Connect the app. Import your followers. Invite your followers. Get verified for having a Twitter. See a pattern? I don’t agree with it at all. But if you want to be web3 twitter, keep leaning into trying to convince crypto twitter to come here. And pay them. And get us to all give $120 to fund even more creator rewards. Bring more folks over to this side. Maybe it will work.

Leaning into CT as a starter wasn't that bad, because it's easier to start with crypto people for a web3 app. But, they came, and many left. As a small account I had (more than one year ago) already more engagement on FC then on X. I think that's the other way around for large X-accounts. So, imo they should build on their large FC-accounts (the celebs of this platform), and make sure that onboarded people can get more engagement from the start. They will have to limit spam in some way other than hindering engagement from new accounts. I think it's good to keep the transition from X to FC low, but I wouldn't keep leaning on X if you're going to be a serious platform. There are already enough alternatives to X. Besides, FC has it's own culture know, and that isn't copied easily. I think that they should look to the rest of the world.
