I'm a fan of power inflation from version between version, including plain score inflation.

For new players, it rewards paying attention and giving the game a go.

For old players, it incentivises reaching higher heights.

MMOs often play with the same levers to good effect.

The argument can be made this is an artificial relationship, like all kinds of relationship. Too heavy handed with it, and the strings are obvious. 

But I think game inflation is enjoyable - even with the knowledge it is happening - as long as the changes are within reason. If a game is fun, being slightly more powerful is generally fun too.

It still gets quite dark for my taste in the later waves. 😎  But hey, that's just me!

I like the new armor regen. Even though it's not a big boost objectively, it gives a sense of permanent progress picking up the perk.

Totally agree! Small power boosts keep things fresh and rewarding.
It’s fun to revisit the game with new builds and chase even higher scores.
Balancing is tricky, but keeping the game alive is the real goal.

Also, I remember your earlier feedback about the background color being too dark I’ve added a wave-based background color system and made the grid lines a bit more visible too. Would love to hear what you think!
