(finishing chatting with a vc) “yeah anyway that’s my main thesis for why someone would be an absolute idiot to raise money instead of bootstrap something in the current meta, VCs are leeches who’ll force you to make decisions that benefit them not you”

seems like the set of idea/products that make sense for vc is getting smaller given how much AI is lowering barriers of starting and scaling a successful company i wonder if bar for VC will raise - only unicorn ideas that require up front capital or more traction (revenue) before initial round?

absolutely. in an ideal world it’d mean more VC money for physical products or etc but i’m not sure how it’ll actually play it, i am p sure if someone: 1. living in the states 2. living alone 3. has enough money to pay rent and groceries — they can make any software product they want without any investment unless like you say it’s a really wild idea. i like that now for wild ideas you have to explicitly opt into “do i want the pain of a funding?”
