so many Lisboetas in Cannes attending EthCC.

from my POV talking to multiple people IRL… Lisbon totally perceived as a massive crypto-builder hub! (Dubai more like a crypto-trader hub)

but somehow local Lisbon community feels disconnected…?

maybe that’s not such a bad thing though. maybe it’s by design.

definitely agree there is a huge benefit to a local team making it happen! although @ericakang is also making a big effort - maybe joining forces would help it come together?

and then there are a long list of teams who don’t currently organise stuff to my knowledge who could get involved

i think the way you see it correct, and after living in lisbon for different months in the past few years my answer to “why is there no local community” is because there’s not many portuguese in crypto in lisbon, it’s more digital nomads coming and going

i think only you and @talent team can make it happen

we could start by doing small gatherings? Community building can start in non-major event settings

in general i think it's hard to grow a community here in portugal. i'm not sure if it's due to the culture, the fact that people come and go too quickly and don't see much value, or if it's because they have a full day of work and prefer to spend their free time on different topics. i really don't know 🤷‍♂️

I've been enjoying Cannes for the past month but it sounds like I might have to swing by Lisbon one of these days!

I have ended up with meetings with quite a number of Portugal based builders the last while though so it checks out 🫡
