I know guys, you're all bullish on Claude etc. but if you keep outsourcing more and more of your thinking to LLMs, you'll eventually become whatever the algorithm decides. You lose your uniqueness, your edge. Just don't.

What gives me hope here is how easy it is to distill from even closed source hosted models. The major cloud AI providers are all trying to throw in anti-distillation tech, but I think it's an asymmetric battle on the side of the people. The hard part is ensuring people have democratized access to compute hardware.

This is why I stopped using AI directly in my IDE. Felt like I was losing my edge. Itβs a great tool but exercising even just a little bit of brain power instead of just letting it do its thing is critical imo.
