I don’t think many crypto natives have realized what is coming as the industry goes mainstream. number will go up, yes, but CT culture will no longer be meaningfully relevant in any way beyond lore.

building early in crypto on one hand helped me shape my intuition early to hopefully later get an unfair advantage, but on the other hand I’m jaded from the endless toxic griftslop “wen utility ser” that you need to deal with on a daily basis if you reach even the lowest levels of success 

i’m excited for the first significant wave of normies to reach crypto and hope there’s a sharp step change in culture that follows

i think many conflate “decentralised” with “unregulated”. not everyone is in the hardcore libertarian camp and many will be happy to concede paying taxes to get programmable interoperable tokens and the other stuff it enables

I’d love to believe in this, but I strongly doubt normies will make crypto better. They might proliferate it, but the normified version of crypto may very well be castrated and then subsumed by the centralized world order. 

I recognize not everyone here is in it for the ideology of decentralization, but we’re missing an enormous potential improvement in the life of the common man if blockchain ends up only being used in centralized applications.
