we “lost” our toddler for ~3 minutes last night. some horrible and very long seconds.

reminds me of something that i’ve learned since becoming husband and dad: you do not mess with a man’s wife or kids. 

it wakes something primal that can push even the mildest person to do horrible and cruel things.

I had a couple scares when kiddo was little — he’d hide under a rack at a store and took off one time at the mall — amazing how quick those lil legs go 

I didn’t care what the other parents thought - when he was 2 I had him on a backpack leash (lil monkey backpack with a leash on it). Saved us many times at Disney world!
