Love the video feed on @coinbasewallet BUT there’s quite a bit of older content coming up and I’m not seeing more recent videos that I’m currently seeing in the Farcaster app. 

How is the video feed algo determined? Not sure who to direct to so tagging @aneri.base.eth @jesse.base.eth

yeah for sure I love it too. we need to make algo better AND we need 1000x more content. working on both!!

And to be clear I LOVE the video feed! I like that it has its own space. Makes it feel like 2 apps in 1 and feels like a good compromise for those who don’t want video taking over their feed. Good design choice!

Thanks vico! That’s great info — and agree that some videos are evergreen but was starting to see more old content than new so that felt odd.

Hi everyone! Thank you for the amazing feedback. One of the things we are working on is training the model to understand the context of the video. 

Some videos like traveling to a country for eg. can be timeless and shown regardless of how old it is. Others such as sharing information about an upcoming event is time sensitive. 

We are working on training the model to understand these nuances and recommend videos that are still time relevant. Hope to provide the best viewing experience ASAP, and please keep the feedback coming!

I’m seeing things I know are quite old and seeing mostly the same accounts over & over. I’m not seeing a lot of new ones from some newer accounts and only saw one from Naomi when I was swiping for a good 20 minutes. But in that time I saw 3 or 4 creators over & over and wallet connect like 10x and mostly older videos. I didn’t see one gmfc one that whole time which is odd too or los fomos or many others I know cast a lot of videos. 

So something feels off today. Trying to understand it. Last time I did a swipe through a couple days ago the algo was better. Most recent videos and more variety.

interesting because I mostly don't realize the recency a video vs. the content of the video. i've never seen the same video twice so it made me discover some new accounts!!

The problem is not video, it’s the algo, huge accounts are suffering from reduction in casts. Maybe that’s what is happening to the video casts, because I don’t see your video casts in my timeline, I have to open your account and interact with them, but I see your pictures and text casts.

Personally, it did feel kind of hard casting videos more recently as time went by, i started casting more videos one time and i noticed my engagement seemed like it was dropping generally across casts.

I know i’m not supposed to worry about that but if videos are less seen, why bother casting about it on X, could just do more pictures and texts instead.

Hence why i have more older videos than recent, it’s probably the same for people who cast videos before too though.

Will improve on my end. I hope videos get more light too.

Great question been wondering the same. Algo feels a bit out of sync 🧠⌛
